Carbon fiber straps have long been used to strengthen and support a base wall on a building. While this can make small cracks look like a problem worth solving, it will do nothing to prevent larger and more damaging cracks from occurring in the future. Long-term repairs on foundations should involve concrete repair, or a reinforced basement wall with reinforced corners. These will protect against further cracking, as well as prevent further water damage.
